Gaining an overshield after a kill in PvE isn't as useful as it sounds. It works in PvE too, albeit at the cost of using another Exotic that could enhance your abilities. The boost to your shields can make follow-up engagements much more manageable. Should you kill them, you gain an overshield for ten seconds.
